Two brothers, whose revolutionary drying invention has been backed by Trevor Baylis Brands, (TBB) have secured a contract with a leading national equipment-hire company.
David and Jack Elliot's Direct Air Dryer (DAD) is now being used by Supply UK's disaster response team called Force 3 whenever they are called to water damaged properties.
The brothers are also celebrating the fact that they are about to be granted UK and European patent protection for their ground-breaking invention and are now considering which countries to market the DAD in. They also hope the European patent will help them attract more investors.
Robert Fairall, of TBB, said: “The patent stops anyone else from replicating the product and no one else can copy the DAD without infringing our rights. It also gives confidence to current and future investors. We are delighted that the business is growing steadily and more and more companies are enquiring about the product and training their staff how to use it. ”
Companies that are reaping the benefits of using Direct Air Dryers include fire and flood restoration company Belfor and leading restoration and specialist cleaning company Rainbow International.
The Direct Air Dryers team has been working with Belfor's Technical Development Manager, John Thompson, who has been testing the DAD. John said: “The DAD is one of the best advances in drying in recent years. In a range of tests, the DAD with heat reduces drying times by around 60 per cent. We have invested in a number of DADs and will be using them for different drying applications so we can give our customers the best possible service.”
John Mussell, of Rainbow International's Skelmersdale branch, added: “The DAD has made an amazing difference to the service we can offer to customers. We are now using the equipment every day and it's allowing us to deal with more drying situations than before as less equipment is needed and fewer staff. It's not only great for our customers, but also in terms of the income we can generate for Rainbow International by using DADs.”
With flooding taking place in some parts of the country and other areas on alert, the DAD team is working hard to make as many people as possible aware of their system. They are also promoting DAD to the construction industry as it can be used to dry screed and similar materials in record time.
David and Jack Elliott recently appeared on ITV Meridian in a feature about the benefits of their invention and were also interviewed on BBC Sussex and Surrey.
